Chris started his self-publishing path in June 2021 with the publication of book one in The Word Spider series. The first three books follow Alice the Albino spider as she ventures far from her home below the midnight darkness of her home below the floorboards of the old bookshop.
The series continues with the adventures of Kurt, featuring fan favourite Kurt as he travels the wasteland trying to make his way home after the events of Book 3 of The Word Spider
With fun new characters and some old favourites, the adventures of Kurt are full of adventure, secrets and more.
Part three of Kurt's adventure will be out summer 2024
Chris is currently working on an epic Japanese fantasy, following our young protagonist, Daichi, and their connection to the world of Gods and dragons.
With its origins set in the mythology of Susanowo (the God of storms, who was expelled from heaven for his tricks) the three book series will explore the origins of the story, and what if, Yamata the great eight-headed beast survived the battle with Susanowo swearing revenge on the God.
Chris, also has several other works in progress, from Sci-fi to a Steam Punk, thriller. He is also working on a script for a comedy set in the industry he works for full-time.
Chris also enjoys hiking and loves nothing better than heading off into the Kent countryside and seeing where he ends up.
Self Publishing
During my brief life as an author, I have had the pleasure of meeting and making the acquaintance of some wonderful people from the world of books.
Some of those have become great friends, and have been there at my side during my crazy ideas of running the Pop-Up Bookshop events in Broadstairs (more details on this can be found on the Pop-Up website)
At the beginning of my journey, I set out in search of two people who would become the most important and supportive in regard to publishing my books.
The first was my editor Debbie Burke, through her help and guidance I published book one in the Word Spider series. Debbie then helped with the editing of books two, three and four, and has been there with wisdom and knowledge when I have been in need.

The second was my artist Jon Stubbington, an absolute whizz when it comes to designing covers, characters and more. You can see some of Jon's work through his website. From the book covers, to character art. Jon, continually amazes me with his ability to produce exactly what I see in my mind, with some very basic descriptions from me. I can highly recommend Jon if you are looking for book covers or internal graphics.
