Author and founder of the Pop-Up Bookshop Chris Horn, started writing in 2021. After entering a short story contest, run by Waterstones in Swansea, Chris decided that there was more to his winning entry about a young Albino Spider named Alice, who wanted to read.
Chris worked hard to turn that short story into book one of The Word Spider series, introducing dozens of characters and fantastical locations set in a world long abandoned but humans.
Alice the Albino spiders adventures then continued with two more books in the series produced.
From these a second series was created featuring fan favourite Kurt the slug, with two books so far published and book three in this series coming summer 2024, they feature magical new locations, antagonist like none seen before along with brilliant and entertaining stories that we have come to love.
Chris has two more separate stories drafted set in the world of The Word Spider, planned for release in 2025.
Chris is also working on a fantasy novel set in Japan, with Gods, dragons, and a whole host of mystical creatures.
